What do Piscataway, NJ, Reidsville, NC and Chino, CA have in Common for Recycled HDPE?
We started with a concept and state of the art HDPE recycling systems from Union Carbide Corporation's Plastic Recycling business, located in Piscataway, NJ, but no physical plant to manufacture. Envision Plastics was formed in 2001 after obtaining proprietary rights and patented technologies from Union Carbide. At the same time, 2 newly acquired facilities, FCR (Casella Waste) Plastic Recycling in Reidsville, NC and USPL in Chino CA, provided the manufacturing platforms needed for the production of recycled HDPE resin. The locations of these 2 facilities also allowed for ease in distribution from either coast to our customers.
Envision Plastics has since commercialized the production of these core Union Carbide technologies and improved them to their current industry leading positions. These proprietary and patented technologies became:
Envision Plastics is a recognized industry leader in post consumer recycled polyolefin resins. This leading position has been built by superior product quality and value-added product offerings distinguishing Envision's customer mix from the industry norm for recycled plastics companies. As a result, our portfolio of clients includes premier users of PCR and leaders in the next generation of recycling processes.
Industry Leaders and Participation
We also drive standards in our industry. We are a member of the APR (Association of Post Consumer Plastic Recyclers) where we have sat on the executive board for 12 years. APR provides design guidelines for recyclability and critical guidance for innovations and packaging.
We actively participate on Wal-Mart's SVN (Supplier Value Network). It is a 150 member group of companies who consult with Wal-Mart on how to create a truly sustainable packaging score card. This score card directs the consumer product companies on how their package ranks and this ranking determines where the placement of their product goes on their shelf. We are the only HDPE recycler who sits on this committee.
We are also active members of SERDC, CRA and NRC. SERDC is the SouthEastern Recycling Development Council, CRA is The Carolina's Recycling Association, and NRC is the National Recycling Association.
Take advantage of our expertise and leadership in plastics recycling production and design. We offer consulting services designed to optimize your production and minimize materials. Some plastics production processes generate significant industrial scrap. We can analyze your processes and help design reclamation techniques in your processes for reusing this scrap, thereby reducing your materials cost as well as applying best sustainability practices for your clients. If industrial scrap is inherent in the process, we can toll process the material through our sister company, Ecoplast Corporation, www.ecoplastcorp.com, so that it can be completely reused.
